My cat predicts the first round of the MLB playoffs

There’s now a point of contention between my cat Musa and myself, and if I didn’t love him I think I would kick him out the door.

He picked the Chicago White Sox to upset Tampa in the first round. That’s not the problem.

The problem is he picked the Los Angeles Dodgers to defeat my favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

That’s OK. He’s entitled to his opinion. And I don’t think he really understands what he’s doing. Or does he?

My cat’s predictions (Round 2)

It was a rough week for Musa. He didn’t say it outright, but you could tell he was a bit miffed after posting a worse record than his first go at prognosticating.

If you need a complete recap, click here to see those predictions and the method to this madness. In short, he was 3 for 5 and I was 5 for 5. He was wrong on FSU and Tennessee.

His college picks for this week: Georgia over Alabama, Illinois over Penn State and Auburn over Tennessee.

My cat predicts football games

Predicting games is a crapshoot. To prove this point I’ve enlisted the help of my cat, Musa, to predict the outcome of football games.

Here’s the rundown of how it happens:

My cat, like all animals, likes a bit of attention and petting. He also likes to talk, though my wife believes he can’t understand us. That’s another issue.

I face him away from me and make sure he’s looking straight ahead. And yes, he actually does this. I pet him some then ask him the names of the teams that are playing.

Whichever direction he looks after I call his name is the team he picks. The first team name is to the left and the second is to the right. Pretty simple, eh?
