Wonderpig,
All I have to say is wow. I just watched the video. It's like I expected, but I never thought he'd have to read his "key" points. Everyone looked dead in the room.

Wonderpig,
I agree. BC"s offense was about as vanilla is it can get. The running plays were all off tackle. And as I said, the QB, who is a stick in the mud, looked great scrambling against a much faster defense.

I agree with Powerbomb27, especially after seeing this pre-game speech before the BC game by Bobby Bowden, that somebody put on u-tube. The mystery of why the 'Noles are coming out game after game and giving up the entire first quarter before they start playing has been solved: Bowden is boring them into unconsciousness. It's nice that he's in a race with Paterno to be the winningest coach ever in college football, but he clearly isn't connecting with his players anymore; every last one of them look zombied out, waiting for the talk to be over instead of listening to what he is saying.

On offense, losing 2/3 of the possession receivers clearly played into BC's game plan as they stacked the line and blitzed repeatedly. They forced Ponder to throw to win the game and he responded by having a terrible game. That pick 6 that Ponder threw in the first quarter was devastating, a drive wasted turned into 7 BC points. Staring down the receiver to such an extent is a middle school level mistake. Carr had beat that BC defensive back on Preston Parker's TD pass, and he was ready for Ponders rainbow the second time. And where the heck was Richardson, who never got on the field?

Graham Gano's consecutive kick streak ended when they sent him out there to kick a fifty yard field goal from the hashmark instead of the center of the field. I know the guy is good, but they must think he's superman to send him out there in a situation like that.

But with all the offensive problems, it was the defense played worse. BC is not that good on offense, with FSU's talent they should have shut them down emphatically. Players were wandering around before many key plays, drives were extended due to lack of fundamentals (players staying in their lanes) and on that last drive the STUPID penalty by Nicholson, when the Noles needed the ball back and had them stopped until he decided to punch the guy in the head and extended the drive, put the nail in the coffin to the Noles season.

And I don't blame the players, this is all coaching mistakes.

I think the only way for FSU to get back, or for that matter to restart, is by getting rid of the old regime. That includes Bowden, Andrews, Jody Allen, Amato and anyone else tied with their program. Start fresh with Jimbo and his own staff. And soon.
