The first round of the MLB playoffs is history, and along with them went the Chicago Cubs.
This was supposed to be their best chance in years to get back there. Instead, they channeled the ghosts of the past and played no better than a Little League team.
The only thing I have to say is I hope the Tampa Bay Rays don’t win the World Series. However, I fear they may do just that.
Baseball karma is a tricky thing. The Cubs have been snakebit, while teams like Florida have won two championships as an expansion team of all things. Now the Rays, losers every year of existence but this one, this one, appear ready to win it all. Yuck.
Anyhow, Musa was right on only one series in the first round: the Dodgers. He was 1 for 4.
I hit on the Rays and Phillies and missed the other two series.
The second round picks and current records follow after the jump. Refresh your memory to find out how I do this.
Musa is high on the favorites in each series. He picked the Phillies and the Rays, though the world is screaming for a Dodgers-Red Sox series.
I have to agree. I think the Rays will win at least three at home and can take at least one in Boston. The Dodgers could pull it out, but the Phillies will win in six games.
