Fix the problem, Xavier Lee

Xavier Lee’s two-game suspension could spell the end for the junior. While he will be back with the team this season, I predict he won’t be with FSU next year.

Lee was suspended for not going to class. He apologized to his teammates, coaches and fans on Tuesday, saying he would do everything in his power to make the situation right.

Here’s an idea, Xavier. Go to class. That should help.

I don’t see Drew Weatherford being pulled as the starter for the rest of the year. He has been serviceable and has made fewer mistakes than Lee. I think he got a bad rap early on, and as usual, Lee wasn’t the answer.

Lee almost transferred twice in his career. He was close to doing so again, but Jimbo Fisher talked him out of it. Word was that Lee was looking to go to UCF.

Don’t be surprised to see Lee transfer to a Division IAA school next year. He won’t have to sit out and he can be guaranteed a starting role at a place that he can put up big numbers.

I also think FSU should give D’Vontrey Richardson more reps in games. He seems to have a good mix of what Lee and Weatherford offer, giving the Seminoles a decent sized quarterback who is mobile and can throw the ball well.

Unfortunately, Bobby Bowden isn’t ready to write the season off just yet. But after two straight losses in the next two weeks, there’s no reason why the Seminole coaching staff won’t have a reason to see what they have for next season.
